Street art offers a fascinating look at the ethos of the local people in any country or region. For some, the moai of Easter Island is art, for others it’s history.  Of course, art is subjective and you may not like my taste in art and vice versa. But street art painted on walls, doors, windows, abandoned buildings and walls are elevated by the choice of their canvas. Here is a look at some beautiful street art from around the world.

Nuxuno Xan’s Head

This perfectly placed portrait was painted by street artist Nuxuno Xan can be found at Fort de France, which is the capital of the island of Martinique in the Caribbean.

Head by Gabz

Gabz is a Caribbean artist who paints in the Dominican Republic and the Bermuda Triangle, is known for his beautiful melding of art and nature.

 

Daleast’s Metal Beasts

Chinese-born South African traveling artist Daleast creates beautiful graffiti of animals in motion. His unique 3D style makes it look like the animals, birds and people he paints are made of metal shards.

Game of Thrones Wall

In London’s Bishop Square, the Game of Thrones Season 4 promotions were supplemented by a three-dimensional painting of the Barrier. This painting is remarkable because there are several perspectives from which you can see the 3D effect of the wall.

 

Girl Watering Tree

This charming giant-sized mural of a girl watering a tree on the side of the building. The painting is the work of Natalii Rak, and you can see it at Folk on the Street in Bialystok, Poland.

 

Portugal Old Building

The old buildings of Portual are canvases for some beautiful local graffiti, such as this piece of work by Os Gemeos. The painting follows the natural curves of the building. The subject has a political theme, with the oil moghul sipping from a globe of the world.
